Well, the recent episode of the NBC television show “Saturday Night Live” mocked the adults who collect “Star Wars” toys. The toys are “for ages six and up… way up.”
The episode 8 of “SNL” aired on Dec. 12 took the chance to make fun at the adult “Star Wars” toy collector, according to IGN. While the children enjoyed the “Star Wars” toys, many adults talked about how they purchased the same characters. They also discussed about their plan to keep the toys safe in the package.
Based on report from Variety, the cast members of “Saturday Night Live” – Bobby Moynihan, Kyle Mooney, and Taran Killam are “nerdy group of toy collectors.” Indeed, they have a different opinion regarding how the toys should be treated.
Monyihan tells a kid to leave the toys in the box and to never touch them. He is excited and delighted every time when adding a new figurine in a glass display in front of the kids. “Awesome!” exclaimed the actor after closing the case.
Killam had a frowning face when a child asked Killam’s character whether his wife too “enjoys playing with toys.”
“Saturday Night Live” presented a “new Star Wars toy commercial” for the “action figures and playsets” of the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” reported Slash Film. The show also revealed how some adult collectors snatched up the toys out there.
Even though the toys are meant to be for children of “ages six and up,” we could watch that more adults were anxious to get them in their hands. While the “SNL” mocked at some adult “Star Wars” toy fans, it was just a “harmless mockery.”
There is nothing surprise about the fact the Disney has been increasing their merchandise game in the past few weeks, as the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is about to be released in theaters on Dec. 18.
