Scarlett Johansson got her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, just outside of Madam Tussaud’s wax museum. The Avengers star is the 2,470th celebrity to be given the honor. During the unveiling ceremonies, she was joined by her sister, mother, and grandmother. Also present at the event was her Avengers co-star Jeremy Renner.
Renner gave a few words during the unveiling. He compared Johansson to the stars of the past. He said that Johansson is like a classic Hollywood movie star. Yet she possesses a no-nonsense attitude, sharp wit and self-deprecating sense of humor.
Johansson said that she felt honored with having her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She said that it’s a wonderful tradition and she now felt like she made it in the industry. The 27 year old actress said that she has been in showbiz for 20 years and worked since she was just a kid.
The Avengers is set to open in cinemas across the United States this Friday. Viewers will get to see Scarlett Johansson play Black Widow. She had some troubles with her costume and the crew had to reinforce it due to some wardrobe malfunctions she experienced on the set.
Currently, she’s working on the independent film Under the Skin and will portray Janet Leigh in the movie Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho, which also starts Anthony Hopkins.
Johansson recently spoke with Reuters about her experience during the filming of The Avengers. She revealed that the male cast members were a little rough with her. She said that she expected to be treated delicately but she experienced the opposite. The guys like to play hard and she was dragged along for the ride. But at the end of the day, they are a good bunch of guys and they all got along well.
