“Scorpion” Season 2 Episode 5 “Super Fun Guys” aired on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 9:00 PM on CBS. In this episode, Team Scorpion went undercover as the crew, and later, as the cast of the movie adaptation of Sylvester Dodd’s (Ari Stidham) favorite comic book of all time, Super Fun Guy, in order to infiltrate Kazakshtan as they had to disarm a nuclear missile before it was sold to a terrorist group. However, Sylvester didn’t come along as he had to accompany Megan O’Brien (Camille Guaty), as she was going to undergo a procedure, and because of his newfound wisdom when it came to matters of the heart, tried his best to advise Toby Curtis (Eddie Kaye Thomas) and Walter O’Brien (Elyes Gabel) regarding the states of their own hearts, and Ray Spiewack (Kevin Weisman) proved, in his little own way, that he was also valuable to the team. Read on to learn more about this episode.

The episode began with Sylvester Dodd (Ari Stidham) promising Megan O’Brien (Camille Guaty) that he would be there for her when she comes out from a procedure in which the doctors were going to insert an electrode, which would act like a pacemaker, to help control her tremors. He then agreed, and also agreed to keep it a secret from her brother, Walter O’Brien (Elyes Gabel).

Later on, Sylvester and Happy Quinn (Jaden Wong) watched Toby Curtis (Eddie Kaye Thomas) practice boxing with Homeland Security Agent Cabe Gallo (Robert Patrick), which ended up in him punching one of their damaged columns, which later, Ray Spiewack (Kevin Weissman) offered to fix, along with the rest of the garage.

They were then interrupted by Homeland Security Deputy Director Katherine Cooper (Peri Gilpin), who instructed them to infiltrate Kazakhstan under the guise of being part of the “Super Fun Guy” movie film crew, much to Sylvester’s delight, in order to locate a 1970s era nuclear missile that some criminals would be selling to terrorists in a few days. All they had to do was to locate it, using devices implanted in a boom microphone and a camera, with Paige Dineen (Katharine McPhee) as the “normal face of the crew,” and then a SEAL team would come in and disarm it.

However, several complications came their way, beginning with Sylvester announcing that he was going to provide software support from the garage as Megan’s procedure had been moved up to that night, and as one of the guards guarding the missile, went after them as he suspected that they were spies. Thankfully, they managed to capture him, but ran into another roadblock, as the SEAL team nearby was grounded due to the fact that the terrorists who were there for the missile’s auction had pulled some strings to cause all flights in and outbound to be grounded.

With Sylvester’s help, they realized that they could use one of the steam tunnels from one building to get into the building where the missile was. Once inside, they planned to neutralize it using nitric acid which Happy and Toby stole from a nearby chemical plant by entering it via a sand tower which released them after Walter triggered the fire alarm.

They then discovered that the cast and crew of the actual film were in front of the warehouse, which caused Sylvester to get them to steal Super Fun Guy costumes in order to blend in.

Thus, Happy became Patty Prankenstein, Walter became Super Fun Guy, Cabe became Whimsical Boy, Paige became Zany Zoe, and Toby became the Giggler.

After getting in, they began the process of neutralizing the uranium in the missile, but the guards were attracted to them after a chemical reaction created laughing gas which affected Toby.

Happy then hotwired the truck that the missile was on, and sped off with the guards on their tail.

Cabe then instructed Sylvester to reach out to NATO to send a chopper for them, which Sylvester got done, thanks to Ray who hopped on Happy’s motorcycle.

However, as Walter had to use the acid to slow down their pursuers, Walter had them drive to a condemned mine where they launched the missile into an underground tunnel, which knocked out two of their pursuers, thanks to the blast, while Toby knocked out the other, the helicopter arrived.

Later, Sylvester visited Megan, and was praised by his teammates. However, thankfully, Ray understood why Megan wanted to keep the procedure a secret, and covered for Sylvester.

Meanwhile, Toby decided to be friends with Happy, as he realized he couldn’t be just friends with her, and Walter, who seemed willing to give him and Paige a shot together, got a little discouraged after discovering from Sylvester that most relationships that superheroes have don’t end that well.

Sylvester also managed to get a Super Fun Guy costume, as Walter decided to give his to him.
