‘By The Sea’ : Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt To Draw On Personal Life Experiences

Succeeding ten years of wait from the release of Mr. & Mrs. Smith way back in 2005, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are set to share screen space once again as a married duo in their upcoming movie “By The Sea” which will hit the theaters in Nov. 13, 2015. Read on for more details.

When it comes to talking about an acting role, Jolie definitely finds it difficult to draw her own experiences. It was especially when she casts with her real-life. However, Jolie did confess that incorporating real life passion helped them to build such fascinating characters. It was after the couple starred as married assassins in “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.”

Brangelina is now working together again in the movie and like the previous collaboration the couple is again drawing from their personal experiences. After ten years of successful marriage, handling full-time careers and raising five children, Jolie says that she and Pitt are drawing on from another real-life struggle—marital frustration.

In an interview with D.G.A., Jolie said that the story she penned in “By The Sea” tell of “a deeply unhappy couple on vacation in France who becomes involved with a pair of newlyweds staying at their seaside inn.”

After filming the movie in Malta, Jolie reflects on what it was like to be directing and acting with Pitt. It was during the drama’s more intense argument scenes.

“I’d be directing myself and him in a scene where we’re having a fight, and I’d be pulling out the parts [of him] that have an aggression toward me or when you’re frustrated with each other—it was very heavy,” Jolie said.

Apart from Pitt and Jolie, this film which also co-stars French actors Mélanie Laurent and Melvil Poupaud. To make the dynamics of the lead characters and film more interesting Jolie and Pitt made the project while on their honeymoon.

However, having finally made that type of film, Jolie reveals “We’re proud of ourselves for being brave enough to try it.” Furthermore, she also adds that “By the Seaa” as the hardest film for her and it is something which she would rarely do.
