Sebastian Stan Believes He Should Be The Next ‘Captain America’

Let’s just be honest, Chris Evans as Captain America has been an amazing one but unfortunately he won’t be able to play the character forever, right? This discussion has been going on for a while but with latest opinions from Sebastian Stan himself coming in, the issue finds itself on the way up again.

According to Cinema Blend, Sebastian Stan was at the Salt-Lake Comic con when he stated that casting Anthony Mackie as Captain America would be like Biff in “Back to the Future II.” According to the media outlet, choosing Falcon as the next Captain America would seem unnatural as Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier already exists in the Marvel cinematic universe.

Apart from this, Sebastian also believes that if and when Chris retires as Captain America, his character will be the perfect choice to take up the shield. The major reason for him to believe this is the friendship he has had with Steve all this while.

For all those who remember Steve and Bucky have been best friends since World War II days. So Bucky would naturally act as the perfect tribute to Steve’s Captain America. The outlet also believes that MCU has been plotting clues here and there trying to hint at Bucky as the next Captain America. At least making him the next Captain America would help him in redeeming his life, which he has spent killing innocent people as a brainwashed assassin for HYDRA. His presence in “Captain America: the Winter Soldier” and in the post-credits scene of “Ant-Man” established him as an independent character that can exist outside the shadow of Steve Rogers.

It remains to be seen if something like this will take place in the upcoming “Captain America: Civil War” or not. Fans will know for sure when the movie releases on May 6th.
