Second ‘Mortal Combat X’ DLC To Hit Big Screen Soon, Says Co-Creator

“Mortal Kombat X” is expected to release its second DLC soon, and it will be titled as “Kombat Pack 2.” Read on for more details.

The game’s co-creator Ed Boon has tweeted about the upcoming DLC which will be released to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. He, however, didn’t divulge any thing about other big details related to the game, like the exact day of its release. He used the phrase, which is the worst phrase for people waiting in anticipation while revealing about the game upgrade, “coming soon.”

Boon has always kept dropping hints on Twitter about the upcoming DLC, but always remained careful of not revealing too much. Last time, he posted a photo about an upcoming DLC on his official Twitter account, fans went berserk and the post got hundreds of retweets and comments in a matter of minutes. The photo was a black and white one which featured four “Mortal Kombat” which were Predator, Tanya, Jason Voorhees and Tremor.

A winking emoticon accompanied the post which made it evident that the DLC would be arriving soon. It is also being speculated that the new DLC would also feature new characters. Rumors are that image Comic’s antihero Spawn could be one of these new characters.

According to, this rumor holds weight because reportedly Nether Realm Studios recently acquired permission to include Spawn in “Mortal Kombat X” from Image Comics boss Tom McFarlane.  If this happens, it will be the first time ever that Spawn will feature in another game series. Rain and Smoke are other characters who are rumored to be a part of the new DLC.

“Mortal Kombat X” was awesome graphics wise, but it did lack characterization as was pointed out by the critics. Therefore, the addition of new characters will surely improve the game.

This new DLC might be called “Kombat Pack 2” as it follows “Kombat Pack 1.”
