Shonda Rhimes is bringing her creativity and brilliance to FX network. Known for her high-rated TV shows “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal” and “How To Get Away With Murder,” she is now expanding to a drama series that has to do with history.

Rhimes, along with writer-director Dee Rees are developing a historical drama series based on the 2010 book “The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration” by Isabel Wilkerson.

The book is about 6 million African Americans who made a huge move from South America to north and western parts of America throughout the years 1915 to 1970. Three different persons will tell its story in three different decades.

“The Warmth of Other Suns” is still in the early stages of development and this is not just Rhimes’ TV series that is being developed because she also has “The Catch,” which will air on ABC. FX is also working with ABC Signature for this upcoming Rhimes show.

Rees will write the adaptation while Rhimes will executive produce along with Shondaland’s Besty Beers.

It will be no surprise if every time we open our televisions there is something by Shonda Rhimes on various networks. Rhimes is brilliant and all of her series have been such a big hit. Now, she’s taking more and more projects, which only means that we can look forward to good TV shows in the near future. Anything Shondaland is definitely worth watching and that is something that has been proven and tested already!
