Sia has a song for Adele after the latter rejected a collaboration with the “Chandelier” hitmaker. And now, the “Alive” song, which was meant for the “Rolling in the Deep” singer, will be included on her new album “This Is Acting.”
The 39-year-old singer, Sia, is known for writing songs for other A-list singers in the industry, but it doesn’t mean that her songs were always given a nod by those artists, and it happened again with Adele. But this time, her rejected songs will be her album’s tracks.
According to some reports, the song that was turned down by Adele was entitled “Alive”- a reflection of the singer’s life.
The track that was written by Sia was originally intended for Adele’s highly anticipated third album, based on the report of Contact Music, but was rejected by the 27-year-old singer at the last minute.
Since it was rejected, Sia decided to make it as her upcoming album’s next lead single [which will be released on September 26] even though it is about Adele’s life. Sia then added to her interview with RTV Slovenija that she will sing the song in Adele’s perspective.
“The first single is entitled Alive…The song I wrote together with Adele, but it was rejected at the last minute. It’s about [Adele’s] life, so I now sing a song from [Adele’s] perspective.”
The singer went on by admitting that the reason why her upcoming album is called “This I Acting” is because all the songs in it are the songs that were rejected by the artists who were supposed to be the singers of those tracks, in short, it was not created not necessarily meant for herself.
‘This is something I would say…It’s more like play-acting. It’s fun,” Sia said.
She also added that she did not trash the songs that were rejected, instead, she kept them because she felt that her written song for those artists seemed good.
Moreover, along with her upcoming “This Is Acting” album, the singer has also written a new film project name “Sister” that will star Maddie Ziegler.
Meanwhile, Adele is reportedly preparing to unveil her next album which is rumored to be titled “25.”
