It was definitely the most horrible moment for “X Factor UK” host Simon Cowell as he faced the truth that his beloved mother, Julie Cowell is now dead. Read on for more details.
Due to the wake of her passing, the “X Factor U.K.” auditions scheduled in Manchester have been canceled. It was following a statement were Syco Entertainment spokesman said that they have not made any decisions beyond the cancellation.
The supposed to be first try-outs for the new season were expected to be attended by Cowell alongside with his fellow judges, Rita Ora and Cheryl Fernandez Versini, as well as with the new presenters Olly Murs and Caroline Flack.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson of the family announced Julie’s death Sunday Night.
“Today our beloved mum Julie passed away. Anyone who had met her would know what a truly special and kind lady she was. We are heartbroken and will miss her terribly, but she is now at peace.” the statement said.
Mrs. Cowell who died in the age of 89 was a mother of four boys namely- Simon and his brothers Nicholas, Tony and Michael. Julie is also a step-mother to John and June.
The family’s spokesman also added that the family would like to thank the media for kindly respecting Julie’s privacy throughout. They also politely continued privacy for the entire family at this particularly difficult time.
Julie’s husband, Eric Selig Phillip Cowell, passed away in 1999 at the age of 81. Cowell had a close relationship with both of his parents; he even stated that his father’s death was the most horrible thing happened to his life.
On the other hand, an update about the auditions was reported by Mirror. It was said that he has vowed to begin filming the reality competition series after being given time to grieve for his mother.
Though very devastated about his mother’s death, Cowell knows how many people are involved in the X Factor and doesn’t like to let people down.
“Julie was a big fan of the show, so it feels right to take some time out and then come back and work on the show later in the week,” a source close to Cowell said.
