The creator behind one of the most popular singing competition “X Factor” revealed that the reason why they delayed the news about 1D’s breakup was because of the fans! Cowell revealed the reason why he fears to announce the breakup of the popular British band.
Sunday People reported that Cowell confessed to them that plans about the band’s breakup have been raised for over a year now. It only means that it was discussed even before Zayn Malik decided to part ways with his band.
However, even though they’ve been discussing it before, Cowell on the other hand, was reported to deliberately drip-fed the news of ID’s break up. It was because he’s afraid of what could be its possible effect to the young fans of the band.
ID has been a part of their fans lives almost every day, so it is really one of the biggest factor they should consider before announcing the breakup. However, it looks like even though they came to terms and prep up themselves to what the fans will do, which is the 55-year-old Television judge and music mentor’s concern is exactly what is happening right now.
Many fans had an out of control reactions; some even talked about killing themselves if ever One Direction disbanded for good, according to Unreality TV.
Mail Online recently reported that there were fans who post threatening reaction about the band’s breakup. One Directioner even posted that she will genuinely top herself if the band split.
This reaction was reported to be like what happened to the fans of the 90’s boy band group, Take That who also had a hysterical reaction over the band’s split which lead to many fans, especially teenage girls to seek help for clinical psychologist.
Moreover, back to what Cowell had to say, he revealed that Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson did not even brought up the idea of disbanding forever. The four-member just really want to take a break, a long break.
Cowell added that he understood the pressure that the members are under. They’ve been doing world tours for almost five years, they can’t go out without being mobbed by their fans, they are really exhausted and want to take a break.
Cowell concluded, “You can’t live your life like that forever.”
On the other hand, in the recent “X Factor” update, Cowell was reportedly became emotional over Josh Daniel’s (one of the contestant of the show) rendition of Labrinth’s song, “Jealous.”
Daniel dedicated his rendition to his best friend who died at the age of 18 in a car crash. His heartfelt performance led the TV’s Mr. Nasty judge to show his softer side as breaks down in tears.
