Simon Cowell reportedly got upstaged by his adorable son Eric during his recent interview. Read on for more details.
The 56-year-old X Factor boss Simon Cowell was interviewed recently by his ex-girlfriend Terri Seymour. However, when they were in the middle of their conversation, Cowell’s 20-month-old son Eric came, with his mom Lauren Silverman, and showed off his toy car. Cowell better watch his back because it seems that someone’s ready to steal the spotlight from him!
After showing off his toy car, the adorable tot came back and Seymour asked him to say his name.
“Can you say Eric?” Seymour asked. The 20-month-old boy quickly replied. He pronounced his name in a British accent.
Seymour asked Cowell if he shares any similar mannerisms with Eric.
“When he wants something, he’s like me. He just says it over and over again.” Cowell said.
Eric also made him a proud dad when the tot pretended to give one of his carrots to Seymour only to snatch it back and give it to his father.
“That’s my boy!” Cowell said as he high-fived his son.
Cowell also talked about One Direction and their upcoming hiatus. The music mogul said, “It’s not a prison sentence. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.”
In addition to that, he also opened up about his health concerns since he became a father. According to The Daily Mirror, Cowell has struggled to quit smoking. He said that he does not, and would not, smoke around his son. He also said that he opened up about his struggle to stop smoking with One Direction member Louis Tomlinson.
“I was saying to Louis, this is the one thing I would find very difficult to give up because I do love a cigarette. A cigarette and a beer,” Cowell said.
