In a perfect scenario, “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy” are all in one show. What could go wrong, right? It seems like Fox has the same vision of a perfect scenario because they made it happen. Yes, there’s going to be a “crossover” between the two shows!
According to Entertainment Weekly, the Season 13 premiere of the “Family Guy” will feature the Griffins in Springfield, the hometown of “The Simpsons!” FOX has already released a brief preview of the episode online, which showed fans what to expect when Homer and Peter meet for the first time. It looks like both have a penchant for short shorts.
This is a one-time thing, so fans of both shows should definitely not miss this! Matt Groening of “The Simpsons” and Seth MacFarlane of “Family Guy” have sat down and let their genius minds collaborate with one another! “It’s really about the character interaction. People want to see Peter interact with Homer. They want to see Bart interact with Stewie. In a way, the story in a crossover episode, while it has to be there, is never quite as important as how the characters interact with each other,” said MacFarlane in the EW article.
As for Groening’s take on “Family Guy?” “My first take was: Oh my God, we got competition. And they’re outflanking us. This show is wilder and harsher and nastier. We used to get in trouble. We used to be the cause of the downfall of the United States.”
This is just amazing and the fact that this is a one-time thing definitely makes it even more interesting. It’s something that we should not miss! We wonder how things will go between “The Simpsons” and The Griffins!
Watch out for this episode on Sept. 28, 2018 and the Futurama episode following in November.
