According to Deadline, Dimension Films releases its red band trailer for the upcoming movie “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” after unveiling it earlier to con-goers. “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” is a sequel to the 2005 crime thriller film “Sin City.” It is primarily based on the second book in the “Sin City” series by Frank Miller.

“Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” will feature old and new cast members and will be based on the short story “Just Another Saturday Night,” which is collected in “Booze, Broads, & Bullets,” the sixth book in the comic series and two original stories written exclusively for the film.

They will be joined by newcomers, namely: Josh Brolin as Dwight McCarthy, Ava’s former love; “Penny Dreadful’s” Eva Green as Ava Lord Dwight’s former love who wants to escape her abusive husband; Jamie Chung as Miho; Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Johnny, a cocky gambler on a mission to destroy the worst director in Austin City, Senator Roark; Dennis Haysbert as Manute, Damien Lord’s massive bodyguard; Marton Csokas as Damien Lord, billionaire and Ava’s abusive husband; Julia Garner as Marcy a young stripper and love interest of Johnny; Juno Temple as Sally; Ray Liotta as Joey; Stacy Keach as Wallenquist; Christopher Meloni as Mort; Lady Gaga as The Waitress; Jeremy Piven as Bob; Crystal McCahill and Christopher Lloyd in an unannounced role.

“Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” is directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller from the screenplay co-written by both directors along with William Monahan. The black and white, gun-toting girls-filled sequel will hit the big screens on Aug. 22, 2014. For more updates on “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For,” stay tuned here on Movie News Guide (MNG).
