America’s most famous polygamous family is back in the new episode of “Sister Wives” Season 6 Premiere “Growing Up and Moving Out,” which aired last Jan. 4, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. on TLC.  Mykelti senses mischief in the kitchen that she checks it out. It is just her parents Kody and Christine planning a surprise graduation party for her. They force her to go away, and Mykelti hesitantly exits the kitchen. Read on to know what happens next.

While Kody and the four wives are being interviewed, Kody tells the viewers to never try polygamy because it is tiring sometimes, especially when everybody is busy.

The parents are having fun planning a lipsync and dance number for Mykelti’s party except for Janelle. She hates dancing and gets annoyed when the other wives force her to join. While others continue having fun, she exits the kitchen because she feels left out.

Janelle consults her marriage therapist to know what really bugs her. She wants to talk about her relationship with the first wife Meri. She admits having a tough time adjusting with her in the past. She shares that Meri was the one who desired for “plural” families because of her religion or culture. She also says that having multiple families makes it difficult for her to be “heard.” She thinks Meri is heard most of the time. However, Meri is still her friend and appreciates that she was the only one who listened about her desire in having an adventure in the wilderness. She still has a tough time in forgetting the past and totally forgiving the people who hurt her.

It is time for Mykelti’s graduation party. All the parents, except Janelle, perform in front of the guests and kids. Some children are horrified. Some find it hilarious. In the end, the kids join the performance, including Mykelti.

The fun part for the family is Mykelti is not the only one graduating. Janelle’s daughter Madison is going to college. Kody and the wives plan to make a video presentation to reenact Madison’s rebellious past. Kody is the cameraman most of the time. Janelle is the rebellious Maddie. Christine takes the role of Janelle. Robyn is the new Maddie while Meri is Kody because her hair is short.

Everyone attends Madison’s graduation. She is having an inspiring speech because she is the president of the student body. She compares school life with making pizza. In her graduation party, the video presentation is shown, and the audience finds it hilarious. Kody even appears as a dirty drunk guy which makes his children laugh.

Robyn and Kody are having a talk with Dayton about his upcoming eyelid surgery. Dayton’s upper part of the face was damaged because of an accident in the past. The doctor thought he is finally ready to have the operation despite his young age. Dayton must be awake throughout the surgery to lift the injured eyelid perfectly at the same level as the other eye. He is confident to survive the surgery. He also shares that he has Asperger syndrome that makes his thinking different from a normal person. He is proud that some great minds in history also had that condition.

Mykelti is with her parents to meet fashion designer David Tupaz. While Kody is bored watching the dresses, Mykelti is fascinated with the fabrics and designs. Kody is not too supportive with Mykelti’s direction in life because he thinks fashion designing can change her daughter’s morals. He is talking about modern fashion which is too provocative for him. After looking inside Mykelti’s portfolio, David fears that her designs may not be saleable. However, he is planning to put Mykelti in an internship in his studio.

Dayton is finally finished with the surgery. The families commend his courage and improvement. Robyn sees that her son is happy with the operation, although his eyelid is still swelling.

Madison is finally ready to leave the house for college. She is obviously excited. Her parents are devastated even if they are proud of her strong personality and achievement. After arriving in Madison’s apartment, her parents are amazed with the place. They rest for a while before going back to their town. Madison finally tells them it is time to go. Even if her parents are sad to hear that, they think they are good parents to have their daughter say those words. She is ready to be independent.

Before Kody and Janelle go out, they remind Madison that she can go back home anytime. However, their daughter thinks she is not going to anymore.
