According to Screenrant, The Weinstein Company, in a recent announcement, stated that the production will start from next September and is planned to release in December 2017. The movie now will be taken ahead by director Damián Szifron and not Peter Berg as it was earlier planned.
The movie is centred on Colonel Steve Austin who is a part of a top secret program run by the government and faces a nearly death experience during a mission. With the help of advance technology and medical facilities, he is brought back to life as a bionic man who has extraordinary abilities which no normal human being can have.
Mark Wahlberg in a recent interview stated that he is very excited to be a part of “The Six Billion Dollar Man” with the go ahead of Bob Weinstein and Damián Szifron.
Szifron, on the other hand, mentioned that such films leave a great impact on him and writing a screenplay for Bob Weinstein has been a wonderful part of the journey.
“The Six Billion Dollar Man” will battle against “The Croods 2” and Disney’s untitled live action fairy tale movie at the box-office during its release and has a good chance to mark a commercial success against the slated movies.
