“Sleepy Hollow” fans do not have to wait any longer to get a dosage of the FOX drama, which will premiere its second season on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014. Sleepy Hollow takes on a new form, as it gets a digital comics treatment featuring prologues of the show. Read on to learn more about this scoop.

BOOM Studios! has recently acquired the comic book license of “Sleepy Hollow.” It will be releasing brand-new comic book prologues of the show digitally. The studio has released the first two prologues online, which are available through the show’s Facebook page as well  in BOOM!’s Tumblr page.

The first two prologues follow Ichabod Crane and Jenny Mills before the events of the first season. Both are written by Bad Robot’s Mike Johnson and illustrated by artist Matias Bergara.

The studio has planned to release five shorts, followed by a four-issue full “Sleepy Hollow” miniseries set during the show’s first season, written by Marguerite Bennett and art by Jorge Coelho debuting on Oct. 15, 2014 in comic stores and digital outlets. The comic will also feature shorts by Noelle Stevenson.

“Sleepy Hollow” is a supernatural police drama television series that premiered on FOX on Sept. 16, 2013. The show is a take on a modern-day retelling of the 1820 short story, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” by Washington Irving. It follows the story of Ichabod Crane, played by Tom Mison, a man-out-of-time who was brought back to life with the Horseman in the 21st century, as he solves the mysteries revolving around the horseman while trying to free his wife Katrina Crane, played by Katia Winter, who’s seemingly trapped in a place between worlds. Ichabod is joined by Lt. Abbie Mills, played by Nicole Beharie. Together, they try to stop the Horseman’s killing spree and to protect the world from the forces of Hell.

By end of Season 1, we find Ichabod buried alive by his son, Henry Parrish, played by John Noble, who reveals himself as the Horseman of War. Meanwhile, Abbie is trapped in purgatory as she sacrificed herself to free Ichabod’s wife, Katrina, who, after being freed, was eventually captured by the headless horseman.

Season 2 will introduce new characters, both natural to supernatural. Sakina Jaffrey will play the role of a new sheriff named Leena Reyes, and a new horseman might appear in the said upcoming season. He is described as a tall guy who is really skilled with swords, stunts and horseback riding. “Sleepy Hollow” Season 2 premieres on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014, at 9:00 p.m. on FOX.
