FOX's "Sleepy Hollow" stoops down to an all-new low, as its rating slips hard to rock bottom. Read on for further details.
There was a time when FOX's supernatural thriller was hitting sky high with its ratings, becoming one of the network's surprise hits when it debuted last year, attracting over 14 million viewers in the process, as well as being the first new show to be renewed for a second season. However, Season 2, which promised to be bigger, better, and in every way more epic than the first, didn’t live up quite well to Season 1’s success. In fact, on its latest episode, the series drew just 4.6 million viewers and a 1.5 demo rating, matching last week’s ratings.
The problem doesn’t tie up with the show’s lead-in "Gotham," which drew 5.8 million viewers last week from a rating of 2.2 among adults 18-49. In fact, it is at par with "Sleepy Hollow’s" ratings last year. On its third week, "Sleepy Hollow" rose up to 65%, while Gotham got an impressive 80%. Although the show is quite entertaining, we can’t deny that the series is in a bit of a rut.
“Sleepy Hollow” is a supernatural police drama television series which premiered on FOX on Sept. 16, 2013. The show is a take on a modern-day retelling of the 1820 short story, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” by Washington Irving. It follows the story of Ichabod Crane, played by Tom Mison, a man-out-of-time who was brought back to life with the Horseman in the 21st century, as he solves the mysteries revolving around the horseman while trying to free his wife Katrina Crane, played by Katia Winter, who’s seemingly trapped in a place between worlds. Ichabod is joined by Lt. Abbie Mills, played by Nicole Beharie. Together, they try to stop the Horseman’s killing spree and to protect the world from the forces of Hell.
