Hollywood studio Warner Bros, Harry Potter producer David Heyman and game creators Imangi Studios are in negotiations to make a film version of the Indiana Jones-style smartphone game Temple Run.
There are already two video games, Angry Birds and Assassin’s Creed, which are in the works to become animated movies. So, it seems that the trend of bringing more and more video games to the big screen has shifted to the App Store of the iPad at the moment.
Soon after its release in 2011, Temple Run was at the top of the iTunes free game charts, and then developers spawned a sequel earlier this year which also has become the mammoth best-sellers.
The story follows an explorer who is chased by demonic forces after he steals an idol from a temple. The studio is, however, still looking for a writer to bring this plot to film adaptation.
This is not the first time Heyman is going to work with the studio, he has already produced the eight Harry Potter films as well as the awards-season contender Gravity, which pulled in $475 million worldwide so far.
