Sofia Boutella has joined “Star Trek” movie as an alien. Even if her role is yet to be revealed, fans are excited to know about her side. Will she be presented as a villain or an ally? Read on to know more details.
A leaked video footage from the film showed Boutella, along with other recast crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise. It featured Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg and Chris Pine as new aliens, including Boutella who was seen busy with a mechanical table.
Chris Pine was seen with a new open-front uniform with yellow stripes from front to back over the shoulder bearing the classic Alliance logo. This new uniform maybe a part of the Starfleet’s revamp efforts, after their headquarters was destroyed by Khan in “Into Darkness.” It is also possible that the new uniform wore by Pine signifies him as Captain because Simon Pegg was seen sporting the classic red shirt.
Meanwhile the title indicates that the Enterprise will explore new worlds that the crew has not yet known.
As per the role of Boutella, she doesn’t seem fit into “Star Trek” Beyond as an ally. Khan had also made an alliance with the crew. Besides, the video showed Captain Kirk least concerned about the danger while working with Boutella.
Notably, Boutella seems to be from a new race that has not been depicted in Star Trek lore. It is also reported that Boutella might be from the race that the crew had exposed in the beginning of the last film.
Sofia Boutella’s hair and face are covered in black and white stripes. Wearing a type of light armor on shoulders and the use of straps on the outfit that looks to have more functions, we can say that her species is the one that is always ready for war.
