“Sons of Anarchy” Prequel or spin-off may have been just blessed a life by Kurt Sutter. The former executive producer of “Sons of Anarchy” talked in-depth future options for the hit series and of course, Charlie Hunnam!
In his recent interview with Deadline, Sutter opened to the idea of a spin-off rather than a prequel saying that he would prefer a contemporary piece over prequel, as prequel would only mess with things he has already established in the past. Sutter does not want to touch anything that is already loved so much by fans and accepted.
There are slimmer chances of seeing Hunnam again teaming up with Sutter for “Sons of Anarchy” spin-off but Kurt Sutter did not rule out all of the chances.
“It [Spin-Off] doesn’t mean that there couldn’t be some cool, ironic crossovers with familiar characters as the series progressed.” Sutter said.
Well, we cannot imagine “Sons of Anarchy” without Hunnam and Sutter cannot even. He considers Hunnam as his family and is known to spend loads of time with him to discuss future possibilities and work.
According to Classicalite, the “Sons of Anarchy” spin-off series is most probably heading towards “Mayans.”
“The Mayan thing happened as I was talking to Eric Schrier, one of the FX executives I’ve known since The Shield. We were talking about the idea of doing things for other markets, like the Spanish-speaking market. I casually said I’d be open to doing something with the Mayans. It’s the same [biker] subculture, but it’d be interesting to see the influences of that culture and how it impacts the subculture we already understand.” Sutter said.
Sutter admitted that “SOA” is hard to follow that is why he is risking on something that is apart from the mythology already been told. So that, he does not risk too much and if in case it works then it [new story-line] is going to solely take flight on its own.
