The FX series “Sons of Anarchy” may have marked its season finale on television in 2014, but it seems like the creator of the series had bigger plans for the franchise. Series creator Kurt Sutter revealed that the highly anticipated “SOA” prequel, which may feature Brad Pitt, Charlie Hunnam and Ryan Hurst, is headed to the big screens. Good news for many “Sons of Anarchy” fans! The FX series that fans loved and talked about for many seasons will be turned into a major motion picture.
Kurt Sutter announced his plans for the FX series, “Sons of Anarchy,” including details on the prequel’s release date and cast members.
“People absolutely loved the show, as did I, and I have put a lot of thought into the matter, and we are going forward with turning it into a feature film,” Sutter told Empire News.
The “Sons of Anarchy” creator also admitted that he is excited to bring in A-list actor Brad Pitt into the picture, as the prequel is expected to begin with Jax’s birth all the way to the beginning of the TV series.
Fans are also excited to hear that one of their favorite characters on the show, Opie Winston (Ryan Hurst), will be back in the prequel. Sutter admitted that he received a lot of hate mails and backlash from fans after learning that Opie was killed off in the series.
As previously reported, Charlie Hunnam, who starred in ‘SOA’ as bad boy biker Jax Teller, revealed that the show’s creator Kurt Sutter is planning on making a prequel to the hit television series. The 35-year-old actor also admitted that his appearance in the prequel remains uncertain, but there is the possibility that Brad Pitt will be playing the role of his father, John Teller.
Meanwhile, Sutter also revealed that pre-production for the “Sons of Anarchy” prequel film will begin this coming fall and the movie is expected to be released by the end of 2016.
