Will Smith’s new movie “Concussion” is based on the true-life story of forensic neuropathologist Dr. Bennet Omalu, reported The Wrap. Will Smith plays as Dr. Omalu, who is the neuropathologist was the first person to discover CTE, a “brain condition caused by repeated head trauma,” in NFL players. His amazing diagnosis puts him into weird circumstances, as the NFL does not want the public to be aware of his research and findings. According to Variety, in the movie, Dr. Bennet Omalu (Will Smith) would find out a connection between football injuries and early-onset dementia that could be fatal. He would diagnose CTE brain condition in football players such as Andre Waters (Richard T. Jones) and Dave Duerson (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje). The source also reported that the neuropathologist Omalu would make his discovery after carrying out “an autopsy on Mike Webster of the Pittsburgh Steelers.”
