Tom Holland will be introduced as the next Spider-Man in “Captain America: Civil War” and then will move on to star in his own stand-alone movie where he will be running the ropes on his own. Fans have been wondering which villain will be featuring in the solo movie scheduled to release in July 2017, as there are literally so many to choose from. But it seems one villainous group Sinister Six might just be a top contender. Read on.
According to Screen Rant, despite the fact that audiences came swooping in to see “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” and the movie went on to gross a humongous $708 million, the movie was still not good enough for Sony Pictures as they dumped all the plans and let the Spiderman universe go completely.
The franchise was then transferred over to Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) who will now be re-introducing the character with Holland playing a much younger web slinger.
Currently a year has passed and out of the many spin-offs that was planned in Sony Spider-Man universe, “Sinister Six” spin-off writer-director Drew Goddard believes his movie still stands a chance to make it to the silver screen in the coming years as a part of the MCU. Drew mentioned that his vision of the villain spin-off was a summer annual, which means makers wouldn’t have to worry about continuity and mythology. Eventually, he wanted to make a movie that could stand on its own. With this kind of vision it could fit into any plan anyone might make in near future.
Comicbook.com added that “Sinister Six” was scheduled to release on Nov. 11, 2016 and all the major Spider-Man villains like the Lizard, Doctor Octopus, Electro, Rhino, Vulture and Kraven the Hunter as a part of the team.
It is also being said that one of the villains from the above list was to be removed so as to accommodate Sandman in the team. With Marvel taking charge of the Spider-Man franchise with its planned Untitled “Spider-Man” solo movie in 2017; one can expect to see the “Sinister Six” or some members from the team in that movie or in a sequel to it.
