Marvel studio’s president Kevin Feige just confirmed all the infinity stones will be making an appearance in the upcoming “The Avengers: Infinity War!” Spider-man is at the crux of the Marvel universe! One or more ‘infinity gauntlet’ may just be fake! With Feige and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” producer Jeremy Latcham recently attending a Q&A session to promote “Ultron”s Blu-ray release, news about the MCU is pouring in! Read on to find out more.
Feige is a trickster. There are two infinity gauntlets in the MCU, as a Hawkeye fan noticed. One with the mad titan Thanos, at the end of “Age of Ultron”, and the other is tucked away safely in Odin’s trophy room in “Thor.” As it turns out, one of them is fake. Feige confirmed that “it is not the same one,” and no Thanos did not break into to Asgard to steal a gauntlet from Anthony Hopkins (via Entertainment Weekly).
The second interesting questions related to the Infinity Stones that have been making an appearance in MCU, so Thanos can put them on infinity gauntlet and punch the Avengers to Sokovia and back. We’ve already seen four of them in the movies: The Tesseract (Space Gem) in “Avengers,” Aether (Reality Gem) in “Thor 2,” Loki’s Staff, and Vision’s forehead (Mind Gem) in “Ultron” and Orb (Power Gem) in “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
But there is more, in the Time and the Soul Gems, which Feige has confirmed will be appearing in the MCU. “You will see the other two sometime in Phase 3, for sure; there’s a gauntlet that needs to be filled!” Feige said, speaking at the press conference (via Comic Book Resources)
The third bit of news has to do with the famed wallcrawler, Spider-Man. According to Feige, the “Spider-Man” standalone movie is Marvel’s top priority to introduce the character to MCU in a proper way. Tom Holland will be donning the red and blue web-suit for an appearance in “Captain America: Civil War.”
“The most important thing is relaunching Spider-man with his own stand-alone movie and a storyline that fits into this universe. The connectivity is great but doesn’t drive the train.” Feige said.
