The iconic Stan “The Man” Lee will be hitting the roads to Bollywood in order to start on the film version of his first Indian superhero comic character “Chakra the Invincible.” Read on for further details on the story.
The Hollywood Reporter (THR) reports that legendary Marvel comic creator is set to develop a movie for his 2011 creation. The movie will revolve around the life of Raju Rai, an Indian teenager.
According to the report, Rai is a Mumbai-based techie who will unlock the secrets of human potential through technology. He will develop a hi-tech suit that “taps into the mystical chakras of the body, which gives him his newfound abilities and powers.”
“We’ve set up some great meetings already with some of the most amazingly talented actors and directors in Indian cinema, and I have no doubt that these individuals will help make the stated Lee.
Lee has co-created several Marvel Universe characters such as Spider-Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, Thor, the X-Men among others. Lee has also made cameos for Marvel pics appearing in the 2000’s “X-men”, 2002’s “Spider-Man”, Daredevil, Hulk, Spider-man 2, Fantastic Four, X-men: Last Stand, Spider-man 3, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-man, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy. He is set for a cameo in Avengers: Age of Ultron and has finished filming his scene.
The film version will be featuring a grown-up version of the Chakra where concept images of the character where shared via social media by Lee himself. Lee will be producing the pic along with Pow! Entertainment’s Gill Champion and Graphic India CEO Sharad Devarajan who have met up with leading Bollywood directors, producers and writers for the live-action adaptation.
Earlier, an animated version of “Chakra: The Invincible” premiered on Cartoon Network India channel on Nov. 30, 2013, running for a span of 65 minutes. The animated pic was produced by Graphic India and POW Entertainment.
“Chakra the Invincible” is set to begin preproduction by early 2015 and production by late 2015 or early 2016.
