“Castle” season 9 will not feature Stana Katic and Tamala Jones as ABC Network recently confirmed. Show’s creator Andrew Marlowe, who quit last year after Season 7, tweeted that he was heartbroken after he got to know that ABC has no intention to renew Katic and Jones’ contracts for a fresh season.
Stana Katic plays the central role of Captain Kate Beckett on the show, while Jones plays the role of medical examiner Lanie Parish.
Deadline reports that Andrew Marlowe, the creator of “Castle,” did not have much words to describe his feelings after the news broke that Stana Katic would exit from “Castle” after Season 8 due to budgetary reasons. He told his fans and followers on Twitter that he is “Hearbroken” because of ABC’s shocking decision. Marlowe tweeted: “There are no words” as he was heartbroken.
Heartbroken. There are no words. #nmc

TV Line reports that Marlowe also created hastag “#nmc” for “NoMoreCaskett.” Richard Castle, the novelist in the series, and captain Beckett are the central characters of the show, and the fans have coined the name Caskett for this couple .
Similarly, former “Castle” writer and producer Terri Edda Miller also responded to the news and retweeted Marlowe’s comment.
The news also left rest of the cast members disappointed. Actor Jon Huertas (Javier Esposito) tweeted that he was shocked by the news of Katic’s exit, and at the same time, he was feeling uncertain about his character’s future in the series. Actress Susan Sullivan expressed her sadness and surprise over the exit of Katic and Jones.
It is too early to predict how “Castle” will move forward in the new season without Stana Katic’s character in it. The season 8 finale will air on May 16.
