No Star Wars fan can claim to not know of Han Solo and Chewbacca, who have really made their marks in the original Star Wars trilogy. They are so well loved that the two are making a comeback in the upcoming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” But what the fans probably didn’t know — until the latest “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” episode, that is — is that the two actually had a falling out! But that seems all clear now.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” had a Star Wars-dedicated episode last Monday night, where it previewed the first movie clip from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” While that was pretty exciting for fans, a short sketch involving Harrison Ford and the beloved Chewbacca (played by Peter Mayhew in the movies) also tugged at hearts of Star Wars fans.
It all started with the host introducing a falling out between two casts of the Star Wars franchise, presumably about a certain woman. Then he hears sirens and a commotion outside, which he checks out.
Apparently, Chewbacca was standing atop the studio building, ready to jump. Kimmel, of course, tries to stop him. Ford sees the commotion and says it’s a good thing that the Wookie wants to end his life. There was also a mention of “She was my wife!” The host intervenes and reminds the Han Solo actor of their friendship and how the feud was from a galaxy far-far away.
Then everybody hears the opening strains of Adele’s “Hello” as what are supposed to be flashbacks of the two popular Star Wars tandem having a fun time start rolling out. Ford’s heart melts and he goes to Chewie and they hug it out.
It is such a fun watch and it tugs at all fans of the smuggler and the loveable Wookie. Don’t believe us? Check out the video below.
