“Jupiter Ascending” and “Doctor Who,” actress, Gugu Mbatha-Raw is the newest member of the “Star Wars” universe and now she is negotiating about her role in “ Episode VIII.”
Disney and Lucas Film have not yet disclosed any details of her role, so it’s still vague whether the “Doctor Who,” actress will be a new woman lead like what Olivia, Cooke, Tatiana Maslany and Gina Rodriguez, recently auditioned. There are also speculations that she may be Finn, John Boyega character’s love interest. There are also news saying there will be two major women roles in “Star Wars VIII,” and Mbatha-Raw already got one. So, the staff is looking for another female actress. Hopefully, this is for real, because fans are expecting to see Maslany in the new “Star Wars,” installment.
Even though, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” is still set to premiere two months from now, on December 18, 2015, fans should anticipate two more installments from Lucas Films, the “Episode VIII” and “ Episode IX.”
Just recently, Benicio del Torro is confirmed to be the main villain in “Episode VIII,” and he also said that Rian Johnson would be the perfect director for this film.
Benecio del Torro made these comments in an interview during the promo of his film “Sicario.” The famous actor from Puerto Rico was asked about what might be the contribution of Johnson in the film, he said Johnson could be a new synergy in the set.
Going back to Mbatha-Raw is the best choice for the film, as she has an incredible talent and will give more range to the “Episode VIII.” She has gained positive feedback on her remarkable performances in both “Belle” and “Beyond the Lights,” and will soon be watched in the live-action “ Beauty and the Beast” and “ Beyond the Lights.”
