“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” actress Carrie Fisher’s comeback for the recent installment is one of the most awaited scenes in the movie. Her role as Princess Leia back in the early films is really iconic. Now that she came back for episode VII, several reactions were expressed by those who made the comparison between her previous and present character, well, in terms of appearance.
According to Mirror, moviegoers argued that she aged beautifully while some have another opinion about this matter. This caused an online discussion that reached her knowledge. Upon learning of it, she quickly voiced out her response through her account.
“Please stop debating about whether OR not aged well. unfortunately it hurts all 3 of my feelings. My BODY hasn’t aged as well as I have. Blow us.” she posted. Minutes later, she tweeted, “My body is my brain bag, it hauls me around to those places & in front of faces where there’s something to say or see.” This message is included with the picture of her dog placed on top of her knee.
MailOnline cited her interview for Calgary Herald back in 2013 when she is preparing for the role. She said, “I’m glad they are doing a new movie because they are sending a trainer to my house so I can get in really good shape. So I’m really eating a lot of sugar in advance, as you can see. By the time I really get down to it I will have eaten everything.”
She added, “I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.” For some, it is just normal that fans would compare her appearance before and now. For others, everyone should be sensitive when it comes to that topic primarily for a woman.
Whatever people may think of her, she has already left her mark in Hollywood as Princess Leia in “Star Wars.”
