“For cinemas it’s the perfect end to a strong year and a great start to 2016 after a tough 2014,” explains Andreas Wiseman, of Screen International. This time we saw the original cast members including Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher that might be another factor for the film’s rising success story and might make it a strong contender for many award categories.

According to Academy expert Scott Feinberg at the Hollywood Reporter, the film depicts higher chances of winning an Academy this time as it is now being counted amongst the top 10 all time hits.

It might get nominated for best picture and become the first ever Star Wars film to do so. It will be quite interesting to see the film beating the other contenders in race and also breaking Avatar’s record.
