Steven Spielberg has something to say about the new episode in the Star Wars saga. He thinks that this will be the biggest movie ever. Well, did that surprise anyone? Not me. I mean, duh!
The buzz on the Star Wars franchise never dies. The geriatric franchise has been around for so long that even grandpas and grandmas have picked up the blessing, “May the Force be with you.” But the franchise refuses to die. It looks like every generation muses over the Star Wars Universe and decides to add something to the dithyrambic saga. So here’s another one in the long line of movies about the Skywalker family.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is here. And I would probably go to the nearest theater to watch it when it comes out, even if I sleep through half of it, because, face it folks! If you don’t know anything about Darth Vader, it is as if you haven’t lived at all.
So here’s the dope on Spielberg’s take on Episode VII. He just can’t stop watching it. My guess is the man is trying to memorize the scene transitions. He confessed to the fact that he has watched the movie three times already. I am guessing that it was an exaggeration. Or maybe the old guy got really trippy on it and could not help overdosing on it. Note to Spierlberg: watch all the ten movies together. That way you can learn to talk like Yoda and we will like you the better for it.
Spielberg, famously, has always said something positive about the Star Wars movies. During the “George Lucas as a director” era he said, “It’s absolutely amazing – it’s the best of the last three episodes. It’s the best way you could possibly imagine for George to finish it off, it has a tremendous ending and it’s very dark.”
After the “Anakin Skywalker” era he had famously praised it to the heavens and said that it had something for everyone. And now for the new series, he says that it could be the biggest movie ever.
