“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has lived up to its hype, which is good news for fans of the “Star Wars” saga who have been eagerly waiting for its debut for months. Several Hollywood personalities also have just born witness to the premiere of another blockbuster film from Disney and LucasFilm.
What are their reactions about the seventh episode of the intergalactic franchise?
According to Variety, the movie simultaneously premiered in three theaters at the Hollywood and Highland complex. Everyone in attendance only had good things to say about “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”.
Rookie actress Daisy Ridley, greatly impressed Geena Davis with her performance as the young Rey, and mentioned that her character was what she loved about the film. Her other young co-stars, which included Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, and John Boyega were all applauded for their acting prowess after the film ended.
Of course, the original trilogy stars, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher, all received huge cheers from the audience as they walked inside the cinema.
Boston Herald also reported that other personalities expressed their admiration for the film on social media sites such as Twitter.
Actor Rainn Wilson praised it for being “epic and awesome”, while actor Patton Oswalt praised director J.J. Abrams for successfully pulling of such a feat. Brett Morgan also termed it as the “ best blockbuster since the original”.
Although “Star Wars” creator George Lucas wasn’t involved with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, Disney CEO Robert Iger didn’t forget to recognize him as the creative brain behind the historic and epic saga. He reminded everyone during his speech that “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” would have never been made if it weren’t for Lucas’ genius and vision.
Now, it is expected that the movie will indeed be a box office hit, and will challenge the current record holder “Avatar” as the top grossing film of all time. The James Cameron film reached $2.8 billion worldwide in ticket sales.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is definitely the must-see movie of the year, judging from the reviews of those who first watched it.
