In a time not so long ago, the universe of a galaxy far, far away, has rapidly expanded, ever since the announcement that a new line up of “Star Wars” movies and books would be headed to the “Star Wars” universe and franchise, thus adding to what is the official history of everyone’s favorite other worldly galaxy. Aside from movies and new books, the franchise also has a new television series, entitled “Star Wars Rebels,”,whose second season will be landing in a few day’s time. According to several outlet, it will not only feature new characters, but fan favorite characters present in the “Star Wars” Universe. It was also reported that an exclusive clip was released, which tease what to expect in the second season. Read on to learn more about the latest in the “Star Wars” television series universe.
According to the official website of one of the most popular of this galaxy’s science fiction franchises, the second season of “Star Wars Rebels”, the franchise’s newest animated television series , will be landing on the small screen on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. on Disney XD. It will kick off with a one hour event entitled “Star Wars Rebels: The Seige of Lothal.”
It looks like fans and audiences are in store for more space-faring missions, action, light saber fights and adventure, as seen in the trailer that was posted on the official “Star Wars” website. Aside from old characters, fan favorite characters from “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” will be making an appearance, as well as, an iconic character from the main franchise itself.
Joining the “Ghost” team for the second season, as seen in the trailer, include the mysterious “Fulcrum” or Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein). He was Anakin Skywalker’s apprentice during the Clone Wars, and Captain Rex, who fought side by side with Tano during the Clone Wars.
The trailer on the official website shows the titular rebels running from the Lothal System after the Empire begins in earnest to search for them. They then end up joining up with Tano and her crew. They are organizing their forces into what looks like the beginnings of a more organized Rebellion.
Also shown here is the Inquisitor (Jason Isaacs), who was thought to be dead; and Darth Vader (James Earl Jones) himself. His presence is immediately noticed by his former apprentice, Tano, Kanan Jarrus (Freddie Prinze Jr.) and Ezra Bridger (Taylor Gray).
The trailer rounded everything off with a highly anticipated fight sequence between Darth Vader and Kanan. Lastly, he ends up levitating Ezra, and threatening to kill her.
Cinema Blend has also released an exclusive sneak preview clip in which the Ghost crew narrowly escape the wrath of Darth Vader. He managed to rid himself of the huge piece of machinery that had just landed on him.
