The force is getting stronger as the power cast of the much awaited “Star Wars” installment gets a new addition in the persons of Pip Andersen and Crystal Clarke. Read on to learn more about the new “Star Wars VII” cast.
“Star Wars” fans will feel the intense build-up of their excitement as the puzzle pieces that make up the creation of “Star Wars: Episode VII” are falling into place. It was announced on July 6, 2014 that parkour pro, Pip Andersen, and American actress, Crystal Clarke, are officially added to the growing list of stars joining the elite space ensemble of actors for the much-anticipated film.
According to E! Online, the actors came to Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Pictures via an open casting call that took place in 11 metros all over the U.S. and UK. There were more than 37,000 aspiring actors who came to the widespread auditions, while 30,000 more sent their applications online. This alone proves that a lot of people are aiming to join a history that’s going to be brought in the silver screen.
“The Star Wars universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent and in casting Episode VII we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many travelled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film,” explained Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, during the announcement.
Both actors will be joining Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, who are reprising their classic roles as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo. On that note, there are still no further details as to what the two newcomer’s roles are for the classic film, but facts prove that Anderson is one who literally knows how to defy gravity. He has proven it as he showed off his excellent parkour skills during the recent Sony advertisement event for “Spider-Man.” Meanwhile, Clarke is also not someone to be overlooked because she will be making her first feature film debut in the upcoming 2015 movie, “The Moon and the Sun.”
Despite having no concrete basis on their roles, rumor has it that the producers are looking for actors who would play the role of Rachel and Thomas. Rachel is described on high regards with her uncanny abilities and natural beauty, while Thomas was the total opposite who lacked conviction due to the absence of his father. True or not, these two newcomers will undoubtedly fill the roles with justification as they have proven themselves in besting the other thousands who went to the auditions.
For now, the ongoing production of the film will be in hiatus, while Harrison Ford recovers from an injury he sustained on set. Nonetheless, the film is still set for its December 2015 release date.
