After committing a blunder mistake at “Miss Universe 2015,” the official host of this year’s pageant Steve Harvey apologized for misreading the cue card. According to sources, it has been revealed that he also skipped out an important part of rehearsals for the final day.
“Steve went to the beginning of rehearsals but missed the last hour, at least,” an unnamed source has revealed the New York Daily News. Another interesting turn in the tale explains the fact that behind the stage the teleprompter depicted “Miss Universe — Colombia” and the snap-chat post of the same which was earlier available on web, is now no more accessible.
According to the source, Harvey has announced this to the producer by waving his hand during the 7-second video. The entire incident is being talked about as a black day in the history of “Miss Universe,” after a strong country is devastated, post the crown has been “snatched” (according to people in Columbia) and is given to Miss Philippines. It is also predicted that the first-time host of the beauty pageant took a long pause before announcing the result which symbolizes his own moment of confusion.
Turning to Twitter Harvey wrote, “ I feel terrible,” while an apology is also issued by the Miss Universe organization. He also revealed that it is a live telecast and things like that do happen. As the Philippines celebrate the victory of its new star, Columbia outbursts over social media platforms with a hashtag “Respect the Crown.” After this year’s end to the pageant, it will be interesting to note as to what changes in the routine preparations will be seen the next year.
