I know this has been discussed a few months back and was met with mixed responses but despite all of what has been said about it, we still believe Jared Leto’s Joker has something to do with someone from Batman’s past. Possibly one of his old allies.
According to Uproxx, there are chances that Jared Leto’s Joker could have been at one point of time Robin. The Robin we are hinting at is Jason Todd, the same Jason Todd who was tortured and killed by the Joker himself. So if the Joker killed Jason, why does this Joker have so many similarities to the fallen Robin? To begin with, the two marks presumably made by a bullet on each of the Joker’s shoulders are very similar to the ones present on Robin’s costume.
Secondly, the little J tattooed under the left eye, fans believe that it stands for Joker but can anyone prove it doesn’t stand for Jason? Since “Suicide Squad” is taking place in the same universe as “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” third clue is the note that Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne gets. The note reads that Bruce let his family die. This is something what Jason might say. Remember “Batman: Under the Red Hood?” In the movie Jason while pointing a gun at the Joker accuses Batman that he didn’t do good enough to protect him from the lunatic and just because his principle of not killing anyone is the reason why the Joker continues to live.
Perhaps in the movie, Robin turned Joker already knows the principles Batman follows and instead of going about it the emotional way, he takes a taunting way to let Bruce know of his mistakes. This angle will definitely be explored more in the solo Batman movie, which is being planned to release around 2020. Till then they could always continue to tease around the fact.
Also right from the beginning, makers of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” kept on mentioning that Doomsday is not in the movie, eventually the monster turned out to be the other villain. So how can someone guarantee that there wouldn’t be a twist in the Joker’s tale?
Cinema Blend added that Jared Leto recently posted a meme that had Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger’s Jokers with Jack’s Joker mentioning that Jared’s Joker will make them proud. With whatever we have seen, he surely will make his predecessors proud.
“Suicide Squad” will release next year on August 5th.
