CBS’ “Supergirl”, according to reports on TV Line, and according to reports on the official website of DC Comics has added three more additional actors to Kara’s universe. The series will include a multi-talented actor, and two others who have once worn the mantle of a “super” superhero in the past. According to an exclusive report on TV Line, the multi-talented Jeremy Jordan has just landed a role on the show as Winslow “Winn” Schott. He is a technological genius and colleague of Kara El-Zor, who is known on Earth as Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist). Fans of the comics will recognize this character, as he will later on become the villain known as the “Toyman.” He is a villain who uses various gadgets and “toys” in order to commit crimes.
Jordan is an multi talented actor who has been both on stage, on television and on the big screen. On Broadway, he his best known for his role as Jack Kelly in the musical “Newsies”; and has guested and appeared on various television shows such as “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Smash.” On the big screen, he is known for his role as Jamie Wellerstein in the musical film adaptation of the musical “The Last Five Years”, which was released last year.
Moreover, the official website of DC Comics reported that an actor and an actress who both have portrayed superheroes in the past will be joining the cast as well. But their specific roles have been kept under wraps, but will both appear in the pilot episode.
The actor that will be joining the cast is none other that Dean Cain, who portrayed Clark Kent, or Superman, alongside Teri Hatcher, who portrayed Lois Lane in “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman”, which ran from 1993 to 1997. Joining him is actress Helen Slater, who portrayed Kara Zor-El in the “Supergirl” movie in 1984. She has also voiced the animated version of Talia Al-Ghul in the series “Batman: The Animated Series” from 1992 to 1994.
They will be joining Melissa Benoist (Kara Zor-El), Calista Flockhart (Cat Grant), Laura Benanti (Alura Zor-El), and Mechad Brooks, who will portraying Jimmy Olsen in the series.
