The pilots of CBS’ “Supergirl” and NBC’s “Crowded” can now be sampled by the general public, as according to Variety and TV Line, the two show’s pilots have just been leaked online, months before the pilot episodes of these two shows were scheduled to air in November, during this coming midseason. Read on to learn more about this story.
According to Variety, the pilot of CBS’ latest superhero offering, “Supergirl”, has landed on the internet, a whole five months before the premiere of the actual episode, as the series will officially begin this coming November.
Apparently, the leaked pilot, which is now available in different qualities up to 1080p, surfaced on the internet’s piracy websites during the first few hours of the morning last Friday. Also, it was noted that these copies did not have any watermarks on them.
TV Line also reported that the pilot of NBC’s “Crowded”, which will premiere during this upcoming season’s midseason, has also been leaked on piracy websites and has also been available since early morning last Friday.
However, this hasn’t been the first time that this kind of thing has happened.
Last year, months before CW’s hit television show “The Flash” officially premiered, a high quality copy of the show’s pilot episode had been leaked. However, this generated more buzz for the show, and thus made “The Flash” one of the most anticipated upcoming shows for the last television season, and drove up the number of viewers for the show. However, television officials are also worried that these kinds of leaks may also have an adverse effect and would lessen the number of viewers for the said episode or show.
What do you think about the news about the leaked pilots? Would you watch it? Do you think that this is a good tactic to generate more buzz for the real season premiere of these shows come this fall?
