On the heels of the pilot episode of “Supergirl,” CBS decided to release an all new trailer, which previews what will be happening next to Kara Zor-El or Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) and to the “Super Friends.”
The new trailer previews Kara discovering more of her powers, and some, as her foster sister, Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) mentions that she’s exhibiting powers that hadn’t even been seen with Superman.

It also previewed her beginning to train in order to be prepared for other villains and characters that will be headed her way, such as, according to Collider, the Red Tornado (Iddo Goldberg), whom she is shown punching with a vengeance; Maxwell Lord (Peter Facinelli); the Hellgrammite (Justice Leak) and the Toyman (Henry Czerny).
It was also previewed that both Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) and Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks) will be surprised that they both know Kara’s secret. It previews an interesting relationship between Kara, Jimmy, Winn and Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan-Tatum), who is also linked to Jimmy.
It also previews Winn kissing Kara on the cheek, and Kara and Jimmy going out to a dance with each other, and a scene in which the two are hugging each other warmly, with no intention of letting go.
Other complications that will be coming towards Kara’s way include the fact that she will have to be able to figure out how to approach her boss, Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart). She is often too hard on the poor Kara, and after she discovers that Cat is bent on writing an expose on Supergirl.
However, nothing at all will probably prepare Kara for the fact that she will have to try her best to stop her Aunt Astra (Laura Benanti) who is bent on conquering Earth.
Aside from this, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, told them that Kara’s relationship with her sister Alex, will be the core of the entire show. Kara will definitely have moments in which she will be feeling lonely, as she, unlike her cousin, actually remembers and misses her home planet of Krypton.
They also previewed that Facinelli’s Maxwell Lord will be a very interesting character, and Kresiberg mentioned that he is just as complicated, when it comes to his motivations and his agenda, as “The Flash’s’ Eobard Thawne, or the Reverse Flash, especially when he was posing as Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) mentor, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh).
