CBS’ “Supergirl” is two episodes in, and Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist) is steadily flying into the hearts of fans and viewers alike. However, not everything will be rosy and simple, as the next couple of episodes, especially the next episode, will see the entrance of more villains, challenges, and a powerful businessman named Maxwell Lord (Peter Facinelli). WARNING: This article will contain spoilers for the upcoming episode of “Supergirl” and for future “Supergirl” episodes. Read on only to learn more about what will happen next, and who else we will be seeing on “Supergirl” this season.
Kara Zor- El or Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist), as it seems, has lost no time in finding enemies who fight her, which also makes her stronger, as each time she fights, she is able to discover new things about herself and her unique abilities, as she learns how to juggle the fine line between her identity as Kara Danvers and as Kara Zor-El.
She also doesn’t lack when it comes to having allies who are more than willing to help her out and have her back, as she has got the likes of James “Jimmy” Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan), the Department of Extra Normal Operations (DEO), and her sister, DEO Agent Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) on her side.
However, it seems like the next couple of episodes will further challenge and test the Girl of Steel, as Spoiler TV has teased in the official press release for the upcoming episode, “Fight of Flight”, that a couple of interesting villains will be coming out of the woodwork, with one of them directly opposing Kara in a more physical way.
According to the press release, Reactron, one of Superman’s enemies, will challenge the Girl of Steel, as he actively seeks her out upon arriving at National City.
However, it is unclear if Reactron is going after her simply because of her cousin, or because he is currently allied with Kara’s aunt, General Astra (Laura Benanti).
Also entering into the limelight is Peter Facinelli’s Maxwell Lord, who, according to the report on Entertainment Weekly, will be sharing some screen time with Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart) . It isn’t surprising, though, that the two would end up sharing some screen time together as the two are powerful forces within National City.
Aside from this, TV Line has just reported that “Unforgettable’s” Tawney Cypress will be dropping by to portray the anti-alien senator, Miranda Crane.
However, her own belief system will be put to test in an upcoming episode after she realizes that she has to rely on one alien to save her and her constituents after her visit to National City is unceremoniously disturbed by a rash of alien attacks.
