Another iconic role has been added to the character roster of CBS’ upcoming female-led superhero series, “Supergirl,” in the form of none other than Lois Lane’s sister. Read on to learn more about the entrance of an iconic “Super” character to the “Supergirl” universe.
The CBS’ female-driven superhero series starring Melissa Benoist as the titular “Supergirl” or Kara Zor-El, has, according to an exclusive report on TV Line, just added an iconic new character to the show’s roster in the form of Lucy Lane.
Lucy’s last name should be familiar to fans and non-fans of the “Superman” universe, as her sister, Lois Lane, is one of the main romantic interests of Clark Kent, or Superman, who is Kara Zor-El or Kara Danvers’ cousin.
According to the report, Lucy is being described as a woman in her twenties to thirties. She is described as having the same qualities as her sister, Lois and is described as someone who is “successful in her own right.”
The article went on to say that Kara might just have a rival when it comes to the affections of Mehcad Brooks’ iteration of Jimmy Olsen, as Lucy, in keeping with the tradition of Lucy being closely linked with Jimmy, will be his ex-girlfriend.
Aside from this, not much is known as to what Lucy’s impact on Kara will be. However, according to Comic Book.com, Lucy did become a Supergirl villain as the costumed Superwoman. It was because of her military father who went against the Girl of Steel.
This isn’t the first time that Lucy Lane has appeared on the small screen. “The Flash’s” Peyton List had portrayed an iteration of the character in the television show “Smallville,” which centered around a young and growing Clark Kent.
What do you think of the addition of Lucy Lane to the roster of “Supergirl’s” characters? How do you think this will affect Melissa Benoist’s Kara Zor-El or Supergirl in the future?
