E.L. James’ best selling BDSM series “Fifty Shades of Grey” was recently made into the most high budget erotic movie ever. The enormous response from the fans gave a thumbs up to director Sam Taylor-Johnson to go forth with the sequel, “Fifty Shades Darker.” But it seems like some important characters will have a new face in the thriller. Read on to know more details.
Surprisingly, ‘Jack Hyde’ will not be played by the DC’s “Superman” – Henry Cavill. Cavill was rumored to portray as the daunting Jack Hyde – a stalker after the series’ protagonist, Anastasia Steele (played by Dakota Johnson), who will convince their boss into taking her for the position in hopes of getting something in return. Jack’s chances are thrown out the window as the intimidating and brooding Christian Grey buys the publication company to ensure Ana’s safety. However, Jack is still determined to chase after her.
While Cavill would have made quite an interesting addition to “Fifty Shades Darker, the “Man of Steel” recently addressed these rumors and said that he will not be playing the role of Jack Hyde.
“I’m not in ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’. I’m for real. I’m just messing with everyone,” Henry told The Mirror.
So there is yet another spot to be filled in for his role, as the “Fifty Shades of Grey” sequel is still without its Elena Lincoln aka Mrs. Robinson and Leila Williams. Finding an equal replacement for the 32-year-old will be a challenge as his acting would have done justice to James’s novels.
Now that Cavill has confirmed that he is not a part of the upcoming movie, fans began looking at other notable actors suited to play the role of Jack Hyde.
Fashion & Style noted that “Insurgent” actor Jai Courtney is a fan-favorite choice to play the role of Jack Hyde in the sequel. His recent stint at the second “Divergent” movie as Eric definitely proved that he could easily pull off the role of an antagonist.
The first “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie ended with a muddle of emotions after Ana broke up with Christian because she felt that the world of BDSM was too much for her to handle and that she cannot give Christian what he wanted. She is left stranded and in tears with a deflated helicopter balloon, reminscent of their time spent inside “Charlie Tango.”
In the second movie, “Fifty Shades Darker,” Ana will struggle with focusing on her new job, as she tries to keep her mind away from the hurt and all the pain. Christian will try to win her back somehow, and he will fall deeper in love with her nuances and untainted innocence.
“Fifty Shades Darker” comes out on February 10, 2017. A long wait for a very seductive movie. We hope it’s worth it.
