SPOILER ALERT: Read the following article only if you have already watched the season finale of “Survivor: Blood vs. Water.”
After 39 days, Survivor: Blood vs. Water finally crowned its winner for the $1 Million Prize Sunday night!
The episode began with seven players all vying for the title – but in the end, there could only be one, and that one was Tyson Apostol. Tyson made a big move to get rid of early favorite Aras, finding the only two hidden immunity idols in the game. And then he wins the final two individual immunity challenges to ensure his place in the final three. Once there, he defeated fellow alliance-mates Gervase Peterson and Monica Culpepper to win the title of Sole Survivor of Blood vs. Water, and the one million dollar prize.
The two-hour finale started with a duel at Redemption Island in which players had to balance a ceramic vase on a board using only their foot. In this challenge, Tina Wesson defeated favorites Laura Morett and Hayden Moss to secure her place back in the tribe.
The next challenge required the players to put wooden blocks on an unbalanced table while pulling on a rope to level the table out and keep them upright. Tyson got his 10 blocks up first to win immunity. This time Ciera Eastin was voted out after the second of three unsuccessful attempts to get Monica to flip sides.
The final challenge had the players to race through obstacles and down waterslides to collect six bags of puzzle pieces which had a clue to solve a combination lock and raise a flag. And this time again, Tyson dominated the competition to earn his place in the final three alongside Gervase and Monica, after Tina was voted out.
In the final tribal council, Tyson received the most votes (at least five out of the eight) from his former competitors, to win Survivor’s 27th season!
