“Switched at Birth” series creator Lizzy Weiss has been teasing fans continuously with some details of what the show holds for its characters. The show ended in March with Bay and Emmett’s breakup and a new development between Daphne and Mingo’s relationship.
Weiss confirmed rumors that Mingo will be appearing more on the upcoming episodes of the show via twitter. Aside from this, Weiss also teased fans that the second half of the season will have one of the show’s “most compelling (and controversial stories) coming up.”
The show previously aired a controversial episode wherein Bay’s ex-boyfriend, Tank, tried to take advantage of her while she was drunk. The episode received a lot of criticisms while girls who have gone through the same situation praised the show for taking on something controversial to raise awareness among people.
“I was prepared for (some) women and rape survivors to be really angry that we were telling a story in which the act is not clearly labeled ‘assault,’” Weiss said, according to Flavorwire.
Weiss was surprised to hear the exact opposite from these women and rape survivors, which may have inspired her to brush up on more controversial topics for the next episodes.
She also shared a sneak peek of the title of the second episode of the show on twitter, which was entitled: “How Does a Girl Like You get to be a Girl Like You.” The first episode is entitled, “To Repel Ghosts.”
Constance Marie also shared her excitement with her fans and followers on twitter by sharing a photo of her along with the rest of the cast during a table read.
