Sylvester Stallone is once again in the limelight after his box-office smash “Creed”, earned him a nomination to the Oscars 2016 for best supporting actor. The handsome 69-year-old screen star also recently won the National Board of Review (NBR) Award for his performance in the Coogler-directed movie.
Dressed for comfort, he was wearing grey jogging bottoms, jumper, and white trainers with matching purple socks. The low-key actor was spotted shopping at the Madison Avenue, reports Mail Online. He finished his appearance with a fitted jacket in navy blue. The producer, director, and screenwriter was flanked by his entourage and was clearly on a shopping spree with his staff carrying a gift bag.
Sylvester Stallone Was Rejected As Extra For The Godfather
During an interview with Robin Roberts for the “Journey to the Oscars”, the superstar opened up about his struggling days and how he went on to write, star, and win Oscar for “Rocky”. Stallone stated that the lowest point in his life was when he was turned down as an extra for “The Godfather”, reports People.
He funnily asked how it is possible that he was not suitable for being cast as an Italian. Sylvester Stallone revealed that it was a party scene of 300 guests and he just had to look like an Italian but was not considered suitable for the part.
Discussing Sequel With Ryan Coogler
The superstar also revealed that he is in discussion with the director Ryan Coogler for a sequel of “Creed“. According to Stallone, he is planning to reunite Rocky and his late friend Apollo Creed in the sequel. In “Creed”, the son of Apollo, Adonis Donnie Creed played by Michael B. Jordan was shown for the first time since Rocky IV was released in 1985.
The Oscar-winning star said that Coogler had some ideas of going backward and forward and to bring Apollo and Rocky together, similar to ‘The Godfather 2.’ According to Sylvester Stallone, it is a kind of ambitious plot.
