The upcoming black comedy drama film T2 Trainspotting starring Ewan McGregor is already under works. It is based on the characters of novel Trainspotting created by Irvine Welsh. The upcoming sequel is directed by Slumdog Millionaire fame Danny Boyle who roped in the original cast of the first part.

What Makes T2 Trainspotting Different From Others?

T2 Trainspotting gives a feeling of surprise and anonymity of what may come ahead suddenly. The film is a sheer pleasure for those who like surprise elements in the story along with witty humor. Indeed the surprises don’t mean merely a twist in the storyline. However, it is more of a clever addition in the plot which blends wonderfully.

The film has been praised for maintaining the quality of direction, story line and performance of the cast members. The sequel has added a new emotional resonant to the movie despite altering so many sequences. The sequel has received generally favorable reviews from both fans and critics. There have been several references, music and echoes taken from the first part. However, it doesn’t affect the overall result of the recent sequel.

T2 Trainspotting

At first, no one was really expecting a sequel for 1996 blockbuster and critically acclaimed film. It holds 10th position in the list of Top 100 British Films.  The film was based on the story of drug addicts (heroine) in the money deprived area of Edinburgh. In addition to this, the film also explored their lives in the area of urban poverty. The characters were very young then and were not able to take their lives seriously despite making several attempts. They missed an objective and motivation, this feeling was later bridged with drugs.

The film was an unexpected hit due to its subject and its unusual treatment. Boyle managed to introduce all the characters briefly with the reminiscence of their past. Things have got changed drastically but follow the rare theme of the main story (Via SFChronicle).

Original Trainspotting

The original film was made in the budget of £1.5 million. However, it garnered £48 million on the box office becoming one of the biggest hits of 1996. The film was shot mostly in one take as the crew was short of both time and budget. It became one of the USP of the film which gave it an authentic and grungy look. It has been nominated for two British Academy Film Awards of that year.

T2 Trainspotting is already released on 27 January 2017.
