Fans of Tadashi Hamada in Disney’s 2014 “Big Hero 6” were left bereft at the older brother character’s death in the movie. However, it looks like Tadashi is slated to return in the sequel “Big Hero 7.” Read on to find out more.
Marvel chairman and great cameo-star Stan Lee spoke to Toronto Sun about the future of Marvel Studios.
“After Ant-Man, we’re going to start playing around with Doctor Strange, the Black Panther, the Inhumans, and then we have to come back for Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Big Hero 6, the Avengers, Captain America.” Lee said.
Looks like “Big Hero 7” is definitely a thing, and it will likely feature the return of Hiro’s brother Tadashi. According to Movie Pilot writer Jon Negroni, Tadashi, who apparently perished in a fire in the first film. will return as “Sunfire.” He is a preeminent fire-proof character in the Marvel Universe, who has been around since the 70’s. He is a member of “Avengers,” “X-Men,” and the original “Big Hero 6” team.
In our previous report, we have explored the possibility of an X-Men crossover since Tadashi as “Sunfire” was part of Professor X’s team. And since both properties are currently owned by Disney, this is a perfect opportunity for Tadashi to show up in the Marvel universe.
Rumors are rife, however, whether Tadashi will play an antagonistic role in “Big Hero 7”, or if her will join the team to help his brother Hiro.
Don Hall and Chris Williams, directing duo, also spoke about the possibility of a sequel only if “the story deserves to be told”, in their interview with Creative Screenwriting. “Big Hero 6” made $652 million worldwide in addition to winning the Academy Award for ‘Best Animated Feature.’ The sequel, “Big Hero 7” is likely to premiere in 2017.
