Taeyeon Worked Hard To Find The Perfect Concept For Album: ‘I’ Claimed No.1 Spot On Billboard World Album Chart!

Taeyeon is the clear proof of the wonders Girls Generation does either as a group or individually. Now that her solo album was recently released, it showed not a lot more dimensions to her musical prowess and the overwhelming support of her fans. Read on.

Just last Oct. 7, 2o15, her solo album “I” claimed the top spot of Billboard World Album chart, in the report from K-Pop Starz. It went on sale in the United States courtesy of iTunes and voila! Everything else follows. Soon enough, it was released too in Korea and Taiwan. Her album dominated the music charts from these countries. It doesn’t end there since she earned the no.1 spot too among 13 other countries based on iTunes. What an impressive beginning for her solo album!

Because of this record, Taeyeon joined the roster of SM artists who are on the top spot of Billboard World Album Chart alongside with EXO, Red Velvet, Jonghyun, Girls’ Generation, and SHINee. Before reaching its current success now, Taeyeon admitted there was a difficult part behind the whole creative thinking process of the album.

According to All K-Pop, she said in an interview that finding the perfect concept to exactly suit her is the biggest challenge.

“I wondered, what is the most ‘me’? It was hard work trying to discover that,” Taeyeon added. “I wanted to break the stereotypes that people had of me. I’ve been singing a lot of OST’s. I wanted to break the assumption that ‘Oh, she’ll probably just do another ballad again.'”

The interview was done in “One Night of TV Entertainment” last October 14 wherein she had a guest appearance. It appears that instead of letting those stereotypes pull her down, she even see it as an opportunity to showcase what she can do more. Way to go Taeyeon!

Taeyeon is set to perform in a concert series from Oct. 23-25, 2015, in Seoul, South Korea.
