“Tales From The Darkside” has finally acquired its lead in the form of Kris Lemche. And this is very important news because he’s the only regular character on the show! Lucky him, I guess?
According to Deadline, Lemche will play the role of Newman. He is a young man who takes on the role of guide for those who will pass The Darkside. He is tortured and has his own secrets. Aside from that, he knows what’s causing the Darkside Events. The only problem is, he doesn’t know how to stop them.
The anthology series is a remake of the 1980s horror series from writer Joe Hill and producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. In this remake, Jill and Kurtzman will executive produce along with Mitch Galin, Heather Kadin and Jerry Golod for CBS TV Studios.
You’ve seen Lemche in CBC’s “Emily Of New Moon” wherein he won the Gemini Award best actor in a drama series and he plays a recurring role on ABC’s “Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.” He has appeared in various films such as “Final Destination 3” and “Ginger Snaps.”
With his character revealed, it looks like the network is sticking to it’s the show’s original anthology roots but adding a bit of touch to its to make it even more “serial.”
