Every year, the nonprofit organization DoSomething.org compiles a top 20 list of stars who have been outstanding with their charitable activities. The list of 2013’s most generous celebs has now been released, and it’s topped by not other than the Red singer/songwriter – Taylor Swift. It doesn’t come as something of surprise to Swift fans as the country pop-star has also led the last year’s DoSomething.org list.

According to the release notes, Swift has worked for the benefit of the youth experiencing homelessness, and most recently, she donated $100,000 to the financially struck Nashville Symphony on her 24th birthday.

The number 2 spot is occupied by the by the heartthrob One Direction guys. The started the year by raising over £2million on a Red Nose Day to help dozens across Africa and the UK who were helpless to live their life under the poverty line. Individual group members, Harry Styles and Liam Payne have shown big charitable impulses by bringing in $784,345 in donations for the benefit of cancer research.

Beyoncé – who organised London’s charity concert for women’s rights, Chime For Change – secures the 3rd spot on the list.  The late actor/producer Paul Walker who founded Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW), and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis whose “Same Love” spurred a national conversation about marriage equality and won the VMA for “Best Video With a Social Message,” also make their way in the list’s top 5.
